Tuesday’s Tucson Forecast: Showers cease, breezes making a comeback

Today – Partly cloudy. 82°, west wind 10-15 MPH.

Tonight – Mostly clear. 60°, southeast wind 5-10 MPH.

Tomorrow – Partly cloudy, breezy. 85°, southwest wind 15-25 MPH.

The rain wraps up, but much of the week looks cool for May standards.

Highs this afternoon run 5-7° below average. Metro Tucson reaches the low 80s under partly cloudy skies. A stray shower can’t be ruled out for Mt. Lemmon, Graham and Greenlee Counties through late this afternoon.

Mid to late week features a return of the Sonoran Wind Machine, as a cold front approaches from the Pacific Northwest. Southwest winds up to 25 MPH are possible tomorrow and Thursday, increasing to 30 MPH Friday. Daytime highs range from the mid 80s Wednesday to the mid 70s Saturday afternoon. Mountains stand a slight chance of showers for the first half of the weekend as the front departs.

High pressure builds in early next week, returning ample sunshine and 80s just in time for Mother’s Day.
