TODAY’S FORECAST DISCUSSION
The Sonoran Wind Machine is back.
A cold front digging down the West Coast develops 15-30 MPH west-southwest winds today. Under partly cloudy skies, daytime highs reach the mid 80s in Tucson. Gusty winds up to 30 MPH remain in the forecast through Friday, as high temps drop to the upper 70s heading into the weekend.
Thanks to recent rainfall, the blowing dust and wildfire threat are marginal the next few days.
High pressure builds in early next week, supplying warmer temperatures. Mother’s Day peaks in the low 80s under mostly sunny skies, with the 90s returning Monday and Tuesday.
