A cold front digging down the West Coast develops 20-30 MPH southwest winds today. Daytime highs reach the mid 80s in Tucson this afternoon under mostly sunny skies. Gusty winds up to 35 MPH are in the forecast Friday, as high temps drop to the 70s heading into the weekend.
Thanks to recent rainfall, the blowing dust and wildfire threat are marginal the next few days.
High pressure builds in early next week, supplying warmer temperatures. Mother’s Day peaks in the low 80s under mostly sunny skies, with the 90s returning Monday. A new storm system cranks up the breezes the middle of next week.
