TODAY’S FORECAST DISCUSSION
More sunshine, less wind for your Wednesday.
High pressure over the southwest brings mostly sunny skies this afternoon. Tucson reaches the upper 80s today with southwest winds around 10-15 MPH. Overnight lows drop to the low 60s under mostly clear skies.
The latter portion of the week looks unsettled, as a cold front heads toward the state. Gusty southwest winds up to 35 MPH develop Thursday and Friday. A 20% chance of showers and storms is possible by Friday night, increasing to 40% Saturday morning. Rain chances cease by Saturday afternoon as the front exits the state.
Daytime highs Friday and Saturday drop to the mid/upper 70’s, which is 10-15° below average for mid May. Warmer weather returns early next week, as highs range from the mid 80s Sunday to the low 90s Monday and Tuesday.
SKY CANDY OF THE DAY
Not a bad way to wrap up a Tuesday in southern Arizona. My thanks to viewer Robert Cline for last night’s sunset scene from Oracle.
