TODAY’S FORECAST DISCUSSION
Another fine May afternoon on tap.
High temperatures reach the mid 80s across Metro Tucson today. The trough responsible for Monday’s breezes has moved out of the state, meaning lighter winds are expected this afternoon. Plenty of sunshine is on tap during the daytime hours, followed by clear skies and overnight lows in the mid 50s.
A new trough clips the northern portion of the state later this week. Gusty winds are slated to redevelop Thursday and Friday, followed by a relatively cool start to Memorial Day weekend. Highs Saturday only reach the low 80s in Tucson, which is roughly 10° below average.
Models hint at a warming trend by Memorial Day, with highs returning to the low 90s under sunny skies.
