Starting the new work week with another round of thunder.
Remnant moisture from a weakening Tropical Storm Blanca streams into southern Arizona. This afternoon features a 10% chance of storms as highs reach the upper 90s. Storm chances increase to 30% tonight through Tuesday afternoon.
There is still considerable differences in how much activity develops over the next 36 hours. The American GFS model shows numerous showers and storms, while the European model keeps much of southern Arizona dry. While the forecast keeps rain chances on the low side, either scenario can’t be discounted,
Up to 0.25″ rain is possible for the valley floors, with a few places seeing higher amounts.
Storm chances decrease to 10% Wednesday as drier air works into the state. Valley floors heat up heading into the weekend, with 100s returning to Tucson as early as Saturday.
