The isolated flavor of the Monsoon returns again.
A low pressure trough approaches the Great Basin today. This feature continues to draw in dry air at the upper levels of the atmosphere, limiting storm chances. Tucson stands a 20% chance of storms between lunchtime and early evening. Mountains and areas east of the metro are the favored areas for isolated storms today.
Like yesterday, gusty winds will redevelop. Expect southwest winds up to 25 MPH, decreasing after sunset. Highs today reach the upper 90s.
Save for a few isolated mountain storms tomorrow, southern Arizona wraps up the work week on a dry note. Monsoon moisture slowly increases heading into the weekend & next week, leading to a 20% chance of storms as early as Saturday.
