A 30% chance of storms is possible this morning. Activity winds down after 9 AM, followed by another round of storms redeveloping this afternoon. Tucson stands a 30% chance of storms between 2-8 PM as highs reach the upper 90s. Favored areas for thunder later today looks to be along the International Border. Expect a few lingering showers & storms overnight.

Today’s Monsoon Prediction Index is 4 out of 10 for Tucson, indicating a moderate risk of locally heavy rainfall and gusty winds.

Hurricane Dolores south of Baja California is slated to trigger a gulf surge of moisture into the state heading into the weekend. Rain chances increase from 30% Thursday to 40% Friday. The most active Monsoon days could be Saturday and Sunday, with each day having a 50% chance of storms. Daytime highs this weekend drop to the low 90s.
