Thursday’s Tucson Forecast: Will morning clouds limit storm development later?

Tonight – 10% chance of storms. 75°, southeast wind 5 MPH.

Tomorrow – 30% chance of storms. 95°, west wind 10 MPH.

Waking up to a few showers, which complicates the forecast for later today.

Despite ample moisture, morning clouds may hinder the thunder threat. There is a 30% chance of storms across southern Arizona through this evening, with highs reaching the mid 90s in Tucson. If clouds break early, storm chances may increase.

Today’s Monsoon Prediction Index is 3 out of 10 for Tucson, indicating a low storm risk. This is subject to change depending on cloud cover.

Friday features a 30% chance of scattered storms as high pressure sits east of the state. Slightly drier air moves in this weekend, decreasing storm chances and increasing temperatures. Triple digit heat is possible Saturday through much of next week. A 20% chance of storms is possible for the upcoming work week.
