Morning showers taper off around 8-9 AM. Storm chances decrease to 20% later this afternoon for Tucson & points south, as sinking air limits the thunder threat. Daytime highs reach the mid 90s in Tucson with isolated storms decreasing after dark.
Today’s Monsoon Prediction Index is 3/10 for Tucson, indicating a low storm risk. Areas north of Tucson stand the best chance at storms this afternoon.
Dry air moves in from the east starting tomorrow, keeping in the isolated nature of storms for the work week. Rain chances decrease from 20% Tuesday to 10% Wednesday and Thursday. High pressure building over the state returns highs to triple digits Tuesday afternoon & lingering through the weekend.
Expect a 20% chance of storms Friday into the upcoming weekend.
