Since 1894, Tucson has reached 108° or above 46 times in the month of August. Chances are we’ll hit that mark the next three days.

An Excessive Heat Warning is in effect for much of Pima & Pinal Counties. This Excessive Heat Warning is in effect today, tomorrow and Sunday from noon until 8 PM. Daytime highs reach the 108-110° range for the metro area. Of note, today’s record high is 106° set in 2012. Record highs may be achieved this weekend as well.

There is a 20% chance of storms this afternoon, with isolated storm chances continuing this weekend. High pressure over the state shifts toward southern California next week, which will help decrease temperatures. No significant uptick in storm chances is expected for the upcoming work week.
