FORECAST DISCUSSION
Thunder avoids much of southern Arizona this afternoon.
High pressure near the Baja coast scours out Monsoon moisture over the state. Mostly sunny skies prevail today, with Tucson reaching triple digits for the 52nd time this year. The White Mountains and southeastern Cochise County stand a 10% chance at a stray thunderstorm through the early evening hours.
The dry trend continues through at least Thursday. High pressure slowly begins to move east heading into the weekend. Isolated storm chances return for Friday and Saturday. Deeper Monsoon moisture enters the state from the southeast early next week. This may lead to a 30% chance of scattered storms Sunday and Monday. Highs remain around the century mark over the next 7 days.
