Enough moisture moves in to support isolated storms this afternoon. Tucson stands a 10% chance of storms between 3-7 PM as highs reach the 100s. Rain chances increase to 20% along the International Border, including Nogales, Sierra Vista and Douglas.
Today’s Monsoon Prediction Index is 1 out of 10 for Tucson, indicating a low storm risk. Isolated storm chances continue through the weekend.
High pressure currently over Baja California shifts east of the state early next week, helping to pump in deeper moisture from Mexico. This leads to a better chance of scattered storms across southern Arizona. Monday and Tuesday features a 40% chance of storms in Tucson with daytime highs flirting with triple digits.
