Ample moisture and a mid-level disturbance should help develop scattered showers & a few storms today. Expect a 50% chance of mainly showers during the afternoon/early evening hours for Metro Tucson. Rain chances increase to 60% along the International Border & mountaintops.
Today’s Monsoon Prediction Index is 3 out of 10 for Tucson, indicating a low severe weather threat.
High pressure currently over Texas slides westward, helping cut down the thunder threat for the holiday weekend. Tomorrow through Labor Day features a 20% chance of isolated storms and highs in the low to mid 90s. Isolated hit & miss storm chances continue into the middle of next week.
