One more decent shot at rain before Labor Day weekend.

Ample moisture and a mid-level disturbance should help develop scattered showers & a few storms today. Expect a 50% chance of mainly showers during the afternoon/early evening hours for Metro Tucson. Rain chances increase to 60% along the International Border & mountaintops.

Today’s Monsoon Prediction Index is 3 out of 10 for Tucson, indicating a low severe weather threat.

High pressure currently over Texas slides westward, helping cut down the thunder threat for the holiday weekend. Tomorrow through Labor Day features a 20% chance of isolated storms and highs in the low to mid 90s. Isolated hit & miss storm chances continue into the middle of next week.

State flag sunset, captured Wednesday night by John Buttrey. Love the sun rays fanning out, mimicking the flag for the Grand Canyon State. Thanks John! #SkyCandy of the Week award to be posted later today.
