Sunday features an increased thunder threat along and west of an Oracle-Tucson-Nogales line, as moisture interacts with a trough over western Arizona. Metro Tucson has a 30% chance of storms, which may produce gusty winds and locally heavy rainfall between noon and 6 PM Sunday. Highs reach the upper 90s in the Old Pueblo, with storm chances decreasing by late evening.
Storm development decreases dramatically during the work week. A few isolated storms may pop up Monday and Tuesday. Models indicate storms shutting down for the valley floors by mid to late week. Daytime highs peak in the mid to upper 90s.
