FORECAST DISCUSSION

Dry air wins the battle over possible storm development.

Mostly sunny skies prevail this afternoon through the end of the work week. Highs reach the mid to upper 90s across Metro Tucson, while overnight lows drop near the 70° mark. There is a slight chance of an isolated storm in southeastern Cochise County today, including Douglas, Bisbee and Portal.

Enough moisture returns this weekend to spark a few storms east of Tucson. High pressure currently over southern Texas moves toward the state early next week. A southerly flow aloft draws in more moisture, leading to isolated metro storms Monday and Tuesday.

Double rainbow at dusk, captured yesterday by Elaine Malott on the SW side. The last few evenings have been rather rainbow-filled, no? Enjoy it while you can!
