#SkyCandy of the Week: Aurora over Alaska

Each week on the blog, I’ll pick one viewer photo for the #SkyCandy of the Week award. The prize? Pride! There’s only one thing that beats an Arizona sunset – the Northern Lights.

That’s what I said: Earlier in the week, I took you inside the science of the Aurora Borealis. Click here to check it out in case you missed it. The blue and green colors Bill captured are from nitrogen gas in our atmosphere interacting with the high energy particles wafting in the magnetic fields near the North Pole.
