#SkyCandy of the Week: Mike Olbinski’s “Monsoon II”

Each week on the blog, I’ll pick one viewer photo for the #SkyCandy of the Week award. The prize? Pride! What do you get when you devote 48 days of storm chasing during Monsoon 2015? One fantastic film recapping our Summer storm season.

Photographer: Mike Olbinski

Location: Arizona

Date taken: June 15th – September 30th, 2015

Camera: Two Canon 5D mark III’s, Canon 5D Mark II with a Canon 16-35mm, Rokinon 14mm, 24mm, 35mm and 85mm

That’s what he said: “17,000 miles driven, which was about 3,000 more than last year. Perhaps the biggest difference this year was shooting nearly 60,000 more time-lapse frames than I did in 2014. 105,000 total. And what sticks out to me even more than any of the other numbers above, is that only 55,000 of those 105,000 frames made it into Monsoon II.”
