Thunder rolls again this afternoon, but warmer weather’s not far behind.
Scattered storms redevelop around lunchtime today. Metro Tucson & southern Arizona stands a 60% chance of storms through this evening, as a low pressure trough sweeps across the state. Some storms may contain small hail and gusty winds up to 40 MPH.
Daytime highs reach the low 70s in Tucson, running 10° below average. Partly cloudy skies prevail overnight, as lows drop to the low 50s in the metro.
A weak trough kicks through the state tomorrow and Friday, which may touch off an isolated mountain shower. Valley floors begin to dry out and warm up. High temps range from the mid 70s Thursday to the upper 80s Saturday. Ample sunshine prevails this weekend into early next week.
SKY CANDY OF THE DAY
October snow on Mount Lemmon, captured this morning near the Whitetail Campground by Bob Williams. Many of the Sky Islands picked up their first dusting of the season, albeit a month or two earlier than usual.
