Valley rain and mountain snow roughly 36 hours away.
Cloud cover increases today. Highs this afternoon reach the low to mid 80s with light northwest winds. Cloudy skies prevail overnight, keeping lows in the 50s across much of southern Arizona.
An approaching cold front enters the state tomorrow, with scattered showers possible by early afternoon. Rain chances increase from 30% Thursday to 60% Friday. Enough cold air aloft drops the snow level to 7,000 feet Friday morning, with up to 2” snow possible for Mt. Lemmon, Mt. Graham and the White Mountains. Highs Friday struggle to reach the low 70s.
Most of the valley floors from Tucson & points east pick up 0.25-0.50” rain. Showers taper off late Friday afternoon.
Halloween looks more treat than trick across the desert. Mostly sunny skies are possible Saturday, giving way to a few clouds and temps in the mid 60s Saturday evening. Models hint at another storm system impacting the state the middle of next week.
