Warm to start the abbreviated work week, but some changes are in store for the holiday.
High pressure slides across Arizona this afternoon. Because of this feature, temperatures run 10-12° above average for this time of year. Monday’s daytime highs peak in the low 80s for Tucson with mostly sunny skies.
A slow moving trough swings toward the Great Basin this week, bringing a cooling trend for Thanksgiving. There remains a great deal of uncertainty regarding how much temperatures drop off & how much moisture this system can tap into. Clouds and breezes increase Wednesday, followed by a blustery Thanksgiving Day. Highs Thursday only reach the low 70s under partly cloudy skies, with morning lows in the 40s.
Black Friday features a few showers, mainly east of Tucson. Isolated mountain showers are possible Saturday with temperatures dropping to the upper 60s for the valley floors. Gusty wind may linger through the weekend.
