Cold temps for the first December morning, but warmer weather’s on the way.
After registering the third freeze of the season, highs reach the mid 60s this afternoon under sunny skies. Lows overnight drop at or below the freezing mark again for Metro Tucson, with upper 20s to low 30s expected.
Because of the recent string of freezing temperatures, a Freeze Warning is not in effect tonight.
High pressure builds in from the west, driving temperatures up for the rest of the work week. Daytime highs peak in the low to mid 70s Thursday and Friday with ample sunshine. Gusty winds up to 20 MPH are possible Thursday afternoon, potentially lingering for some spots Friday.
A quick-hitting trough sweeps across the state this weekend, returning temps to seasonal normals. Highs Saturday and Sunday reach the upper 60s, while lows bottom out in the upper 30s to low 40s.
