Highs run 4-6° below average this afternoon. Mostly sunny skies are on tap today with Metro Tucson peaking in the upper 50s. Cloud cover increases overnight as lows drop to the 30s across eastern Pima County. Outlying areas of the metro wake up to freezing temps Tuesday.
A weak cold front swings quickly across Arizona Tuesday. This may touch off a few isolated rain & snow showers between sunrise and late morning. Tucson may see a brief rain/snow mix, but no accumulation is expected. Highs struggle to reach the low 50s Tuesday afternoon, followed by overnight lows bottoming out at or below the freezing mark.
Temperatures slowly moderate for the final day of the year, with highs in the low to mid 60s. New Year’s Eve features mostly clear skies and temperatures in the 40s. Ample sunshine prevails for New Year’s weekend.
