Wednesday’s Tucson Forecast: Southern Arizona wins the weather lottery

Today – Sunny. 67°, north wind 5 MPH.

Tonight – Clear. 36°, southeast wind 5 MPH.

Tomorrow – Sunny. 65°, northwest wind 5-10 MPH.

For the first time in 9 days, afternoon highs run above average.

High pressure north of the state supplies sunny skies today. Metro Tucson peaks in the mid to upper 60s this afternoon. Freezing temperatures overnight should mostly be confined to areas south and east of Tucson.

A pair of weak storm systems clips the eastern portion of the state heading into the weekend. The only weather of significance will be isolated snow showers in the White Mountains Friday & Sunday. Little accumulation is expected. Valley floors stay dry, with partly cloudy skies prevailing for the first half of the weekend.

Models hint at a strong Winter warming trend early next week. Daytime highs make a serious run at the low 70s in Tucson Monday, with mid 70s a possibility in the western desert.
