The dry streak continues, but an El Niño influence may be returning soon.

High pressure parks over the western US much of this week. This pattern brings a gradual warming trend, with highs ranging from the mid 60s today to mid 70s by Friday. Ample sunshine remains in place to end January.

This weekend features a developing storm system off the West Coast. By Sunday, an approaching cold front increases clouds and breezes. The front likely enters the state Monday, delivering scattered showers and mountain snow. Exact rainfall amounts remain unclear, but should be on the lighter side. Daytime highs Monday afternoon struggle to reach the upper 50s.
