Monday’s Tucson Forecast: Blustery & cool start to February




Today – 30% chance of showers early, breezy. 54°, W wind 15-30 MPH.

Tonight – Mostly clear, cold. 29°, S wind 5 MPH.

Tomorrow – Sunny. 51°, WNW wind 5-10 MPH.

A powerful cold front exits the state today. Metro Tucson stands a 30% chance of showers through late morning, with partly cloudy skies prevailing this afternoon. Highs reach the low to mid 50s as west winds peak in the 20-30 MPH range.

Valley floors of southern Arizona are under a Wind Advisory through 2 PM today. There is a High Wind Warning for the mountains & the San Pedro River Valley until 2 PM today, as winds may reach 40-50 MPH. Gusty winds weaken after sunset.

In the mountains, a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Mt. Lemmon & a Winter Storm Warning has been issued for the White Mountains until 2 PM today. Final snow totals should be in the 5-10” range above 7,000 feet.

Cold temps are on tap the next few mornings. The Old Pueblo wakes up to the mid to upper 20s Tuesday and Wednesday, followed by highs in the low to mid 50s under sunny skies. Temperatures through Wednesday run 10-15° below average for early February.

The average high this time of year is in the upper 60s. Daytime temps return to that mark by Friday, followed by low 70s on Super Bowl Sunday.
