Mother Nature has her eye on history this afternoon.
High pressure anchored over the West Coast drives a Winter warm-up this week. The forecast high of 80° in Tucson this afternoon is a degree shy of tying the record set back in 2006. Easterly breezes up to 20 MPH are possible today under mostly sunny skies.
Gusty winds up to 20 MPH continue tomorrow afternoon, decreasing by mid-week.
While highs won’t be near record levels, the majority of the week features temperatures in the low 80s during the daytime hours. Sunshine prevails through Saturday, with clear skies at night. Lows bottom out in the mid 40s for Tucson, running a few ticks above average.
Models indicate high pressure breaking down early next week, reducing temperatures and increasing cloud cover.
