A cold front passes north of the state this afternoon. This feature drops highs into the mid 80s, brings partly cloudy skies by late morning & whips up westerly winds in the 10-20 MPH range. Today’s record high of 85° set in 2004 appears to be safe, as Tucson is forecast to peak at 84°.
Expect a mostly cloudy & warm Friday. West winds up to 15 MPH are possible with highs in the low 80s.
High pressure reloads over the Pacific this weekend, bringing more sunshine & another round of record-threatening temperatures. Sunday’s forecast high of 83° would break the record of 82° set in 1999. Monday’s high of 83° comes close to tying the record of 85°.
