The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for eastern Cochise, Graham and Greenlee Counties from 1 PM until 8 PM. This includes the towns of Douglas, Willcox, Safford & Clifton.
Gusty west winds up to 30 MPH whip up today. These winds combined with low relative humidity equates to a high fire danger east of Tucson. Outdoor burning is not recommended in the Red Flag Warning area.
For the 15th straight day, Tucson peaks in the low 80s this afternoon. The cold front responsible for today’s winds will snap the long streak of 80s tomorrow. Tuesday’s forecast high of 74° runs 3-5° above average.
High pressure expands into the state by Wednesday, bringing another round of gusty winds. Daytime highs return to the low 80s Thursday through the upcoming weekend.
