A new 80s streak gets going this afternoon.
High pressure parks over the West Coast. This feature dominates the forecast in southern Arizona, driving highs 10-15° above average for late February. Tucson peaks in the low 80s this afternoon under sunny skies. Winds today will be much lighter than yesterday, coming out of the northeast at 5-15 MPH .
Daytime highs peak in the mid 80s Friday through Monday. Saturday’s forecast high of 86° comes within 2 degrees of tying the record set back in 1986.
Models hint at a cold front crossing the Four Corners early next week. As a result, gusty winds return with highs dropping to the 70s Tuesday afternoon.
