TODAY’S BEAMISH BLOGCAST
THE CLIFF NOTES
Today – Sunny. 85°, N wind 5-10 MPH.
Tonight – Clear. 49°, SE wind 5-10 MPH.
Tomorrow – Mostly sunny. 87°, NW wind 5-15 MPH.
The 80s train is here to stay this weekend.
Highs run roughly 15° above average today. Tucson reaches the mid 80s under sunny skies. Overnight lows bottom out in the upper 40s for most of the metro, which is also above average for late February.
A large dome of high pressure keeps the heat in southern Arizona over the weekend. Saturday’s forecast high of 87° comes within a degree of tying the record set in 1986. Mid 80s are expected Sunday.
Gusty winds develop early next week, courtesy of a cold front passing through northern Arizona. Our recent streak of 80s may come to a brief end Tuesday, followed by more 80° days the middle of next week. Models hint at a pattern change for the first full week of March, but the exact details remain unclear this far out.
