From near record heat to a shower chance.

High pressure parked over the West Coast drives daytime highs roughly 15° above average this week. Today’s forecast high of 86° is a degree shy of tying the record set on this date in 1986. Thursday’s high will come close to the record of 90° set in 1910.

Expect plenty of sunshine through the first half of the weekend.

Models are honing in on a cold front approaching early next week. Gusty winds develop Sunday with increasing clouds. Monday introduces a 20% chance of valley rain & mountain snow. Timing & amounts remain unclear this far out. High temps drop from the low 80s Sunday to the low 70s Monday afternoon.
