High pressure off the California coast regains control of Arizona’s weather. Metro Tucson peaks in the upper 70s to low 80s under ample sunshine. Winds this afternoon will be in the 5-10 MPH range out of the northwest.
Overnight lows bottom out near seasonal averages in eastern Pima County, while the Sulphur Springs Valley drops at or below the freezing mark.
A cold front passing north of the state brings back the breezes for the first half of Easter weekend. Winds ease up in time for Easter Sunday as highs peak in the mid 80s.
Models indicate a storm system stalling over the Great Basin early next week, bringing a daily round of gusty winds a cooler temps. Highs the middle of next week drop to the low 70s with a slight shower chance for the mountains.
