FORECAST DISCUSSION

No fooling from Mother Nature. A warming trend awaits this weekend.

Partly cloudy skies prevail this afternoon for the Old Pueblo. Highs reach the low 70s today, as areas south & east of the metro may see an isolated shower develop. Clearing skies overnight allow lows to bottom out in the mid to upper 40s.

High pressure drives temperatures into the upper 70s Saturday and mid 80s Sunday with ample sunshine. The start of the upcoming work week features highs around the 90° mark.

Long range models hint at a pattern change mid to late next week, as a cutoff low potentially pulls tropical moisture into the state. The GFS & European model are at odds over how much of this moisture enters southern Arizona. The initial forecast calls for isolated shower chances returning by Thursday.

Final March rays, captured last night by Carol Todd Peoples in Corona de Tucson. Should be another pristine sunset tonight. Don’t forget to share your #SkyCandy on Twitter and Facebook.
