Metro Tucson stands a 40% chance of showers this afternoon. An isolated storm or two can’t be ruled out. Areas east of Tucson stand the best chance of rain today, with showers tapering off after sunset. Highs peak in the mid to upper 70s with southwest winds around 10-15 MPH.
Sunshine prevails for the first half of the weekend, as Arizona will be in between storm systems. Saturday’s highs reach the low 80s metrowide.
Numerous showers break out Sunday morning as a second trough pushes across the state. There is a 70% chance of showers through Sunday night, accompanied by gusty winds and cooler temps. Rain may change over to snow at mountaintop level, but little accumulation is anticipated. Models indicate another round of showers moving in late Monday evening into Tuesday.
An additional 0.25-0.75” rain is expected through early next week.
