Friday’s Tucson Forecast: Mother Nature’s blowing it up




Today – Mostly sunny, windy. 80°, west wind 20-40 MPH.

Tonight – Clear. 53°, southwest wind 5 MPH.

Tomorrow – Mostly sunny, breezy. 74°, west wind 10-20 MPH.

Gusty winds up to 40 MPH develop ahead of a cold front. Strongest winds should occur in Santa Cruz and Cochise Counties, where a Wind Advisory is in effect today from 11 AM until 8 PM. Gusts to 50 MPH are possible in the advisory area.

Much of southern Arizona is also under a Red Flag Warning today from 11 AM until 8 PM. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Daytime highs drop from the low 80s today to the mid 70s Saturday as the front moves through. Expect wind gusts up to 20 MPH to start the weekend, but calming down by Sunday. High pressure builds over the state next week, returning daytime highs to the low 90s by Wednesday and Thursday.
