The prolonged break from the breezes is over.

An approaching cold front cranks west-southwest winds up to 20 MPH today. Highs this afternoon reach the low 90s, running 8-10° above average under mostly sunny skies. Nighttime lows drop to the low 60s, which is also well above average for late April.

Stronger winds are expected to develop tomorrow, with gusts around 25-30 MPH. Highs drop to the upper 80s this weekend as the front moves east. Winds should ease up by Sunday afternoon.

Next week features two cold fronts clipping the state. Gusty winds redevelop Monday, followed by highs in the 70s Tuesday. Breezes may return again Thursday as daytime temps run a few degrees below normal.
