FORECAST DISCUSSION

WA042516

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory and Red Flag Warning for southern Arizona, in effect from noon until 8 PM today.

West winds gust as highs at 40 MPH. Patchy blowing dust may develop along I-10 this afternoon, especially in Pinal County and the Willcox Playa. Due to the elevated wildfire danger, outdoor burning is not recommended.

Winds decrease after sunset, as a cold front passes through the state. Highs drop from the low 80s today to the mid 70s Tuesday. Ample sunshine prevails through the middle of the work week.

Gusty winds kick up again Wednesday and Thursday as a new cold front approaches. This feature keeps our daytime highs in the upper 70s to low 80s through Saturday. Low temperatures the next several nights drop to the 40s and 50s.
