TODAY’S BEAMISH BLOGCAST
THE CLIFF NOTES
Today – Mostly sunny, breezy. 82°, west-southwest wind 15-25 MPH.
Tonight – Increasing clouds. 55°, south wind 5 MPH.
Tomorrow – Partly cloudy, breezy. 78°, west wind 20-30 MPH.
The breezes are back.
An approaching cold front cranks up the winds over the next 48 hours. Metro Tucson reaches the low 80s this afternoon with 15-25 MPH wind gusts possible. Cloud cover increases overnight, leading to partly cloudy skies Thursday. Westerly winds tomorrow gust as high as 30 MPH. These winds & low relative humidity values leads to an elevated wildfire danger for eastern Cochise County. For that reason, a Fire Weather Watch is in effect from 12-7 PM Thursday.
High temps Thursday peak in the upper 70s. There is a slight chance of isolated showers northeast of the Old Pueblo, but odds favor southern Arizona staying dry.
Breezes return this weekend as a new storm system clips northern Arizona. Daytime highs return to the 80s Saturday & Sunday under ample sunshine. High pressure parks over the state early next week, driving highs near the 90° mark by Tuesday.
