FORECAST DISCUSSION
The National Weather Service has issued a Blowing Dust Advisory for Cochise, southern Graham and southern Greenlee Counties today from 11 AM until 8 PM. Expect reduced visibility on I-10 east of Willcox this afternoon.
Cochise County is also under a Wind Advisory today. Southwest wind gusts up to 50 MPH are possible for Benson, Sierra Vista, Douglas, Willcox and surrounding communities. Tucson & points east are under a Red Flag Warning today from 11 AM until 8 PM.
A powerful trough sweeps across Arizona this weekend. This feature may pop a few isolated storms in western Pima County this afternoon. Metro Tucson could see a stray shower Saturday, with a better chance of isolated showers for Mother’s Day. Best rain chances this weekend will be north and west of the Old Pueblo as highs peak in the upper 70s.
Models hint at a strong warming trend for the upcoming work week. Temperatures threaten triple digits for the first time this year next Thursday and Friday.
