Here comes the heat!

Ridging off the Pacific coast is Arizona’s main weather influence this week. Metro Tucson peaks in the low 80s this afternoon with sunny skies. Winds today and much of the week will be in the 10-15 MPH range prevailing from the west.

Temperatures climb the next several days as the ridge settles over the state. Low 90s return Wednesday, followed by a legitimate chance of triple digit temps. Tucson is slated to reach 100° for the first time in 2016 on Thursday. Another triple digit threat is likely Friday.

The ridge breaks down this weekend, equating to a slight cooling trend. Expect highs in the mid to upper 90s both Saturday and Sunday under mostly sunny skies.
