High pressure nudges into the state over the next several days. Metro Tucson peaks in the upper 80s to low 90s this afternoon. Sunny skies settle in during the daytime hours, giving way to clear skies overnight. Low 90s are expected across much of Pima County Wednesday.
Peak of the heat arrives by late week, as the high pressure center anchors over Arizona. Thursday’s highs reach the upper 90s, with triple digit temps possible in some metro backyards. Odds favor Friday featuring 100s at Tucson International Airport, officially breaking the proverbial ice on the Santa Cruz.
Enough moisture moves in Saturday to warrant a slight shower chance south and east of Tucson. Gusty winds develop this weekend as highs drop to the 90s.
