The best weather in the country for Memorial Day weekend may reside in southern Arizona.
Daytime highs run 6-8° below average this afternoon, according to 4WARN Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. The Old Pueblo peaks in the upper 80s today under sunny skies. Memorial Day weekend features light winds and highs in the low 90s. Tucson’s average high for late May is around 95°.
Overnight lows the next several nights drop to the low 60s for the lower elevations of eastern Pima County.
High pressure builds over the west coast early next week, driving a strong warming trend to start June. Models indicate this ridge settling over the southwest next Thursday, potentially bringing the first 100° day of 2016 to Tucson.
