#SkyCandy of the Week: Twin twisters in the Central Plains

Each week on the blog, I’ll pick one viewer photo for the #SkyCandy of the Week award. The prize? Pride! Another Arizona-based storm chaser, another unbelievable tornado photo from the nation’s midsection.

Location: 6 miles southwest of Dodge City, Kansas

Date taken: May 24th, 2016

That’s what I said: This twin billing of tornadoes was part of a volatile week in the Plains. Kansas alone has reported 32 tornadoes since Monday, courtesy of the same slow-moving trough that brought Tucson below average temps. Thankfully, it doesn’t look like a major severe weather outbreak is expected for our neighbors to the east over Memorial Day weekend.
