TODAY’S BEAMISH BLOGCAST
THE CLIFF NOTES
Today – Sunny & breezy. 110°, west-southwest wind 15-25 MPH.
Tonight – Clear. 74°, southeast wind 5-10 MPH.
Tomorrow – Sunny & breezy. 104°, west-southwest wind 10-20 MPH.
One more day with excessive heat.
Today’s forecast high of 110° would break the old record of 108° set back in 1912. If temps reach 110° again today, it would mark the earliest Tucson’s recorded three straight 110°+ days. An Excessive Heat Warning continues through 7 PM today, including much of Pima, Santa Cruz, Pinal, Graham and Greenlee Counties.
Responsible for the brutal temperatures is a dome of high pressure, which slides east tomorrow. Afternoon high temps drop to the 100-104° range the remainder of the work week as a result.
Late in the work week, moisture starts to trickle into the state from the south. This may lead to a few isolated thunderstorms for Metro Tucson & points east. Storm chances sit at 10% for the Old Pueblo Thursday, increasing to 20% by Friday. Drier air moves in for the upcoming weekend.
