Dry air is set to shut down Monsoon storm activity.
High pressure repositions south of the state heading into the weekend. Isolated mountain storms are possible this afternoon along the International Border, but much of southern Arizona should be thunder-free. Ample sunshine and triple digit heat is expected today in Tucson, as the metro peaks in the 102-104° range.
Long range models indicate westerly winds aloft persisting through much of next week. This pattern is not conducive to pull in Monsoon moisture, thus rain chances are non-existent for Metro Tucson. High temps remain in triple digit territory during this upcoming Monsoon lull.
