Hot to start the week, but relief’s in sight.
High pressure parked near the state supplies a stretch of triple digit heat. Metro Tucson reaches 106° this afternoon, marking the 31st triple digit day of 2016. Sunshine prevails the next few afternoons, while overnight lows drop to the upper 70s.
Monsoon moisture slowly creeps northward from Mexico by mid-week. A stray storm can’t be ruled out Wednesday afternoon, but areas south of Tucson stand a better chance of isolated storms to wrap the work week.
