The wait for metro Monsoon storms is almost over.

High pressure anchored over the state suppresses rain chances today. Areas along the border may see a few stray storms pop up this afternoon. Metro Tucson stays dry as highs peak in the 104-106° range. Today marks the 34th triple digit day of the year.

Isolated border storms remain in the forecast Friday and Saturday, while thunder-free conditions prevail north of this area.

By early next week, high pressure shifts toward New Mexico. Southeast winds aloft taps into deeper Monsoon moisture, helping boost storm development as soon as Sunday.
