The long Monsoon break is over.
High pressure east of the state maintains Monsoon moisture this week. Metro Tucson stands a 40% chance of storms during the late afternoon & early evening hours. Today’s storm chances are highly dependent on morning cloud cover. If clouds hang tough through lunchtime, storm chances decrease. It is expected that clouds begin to burn off by late morning.
Daytime highs peak in the upper 90s this afternoon. Nighttime lows drop to the upper 70s, with a slight storm chance possible after 8 PM.
Scattered storms remains the call for the work week, ranging from 40% tomorrow to 30% Wednesday through Friday. Slightly drier air enters the state by the weekend, decreasing storm coverage to the isolated variety. Highs soar above the 100° mark by mid-week.
