FORECAST DISCUSSION

Hit & miss thunder to wrap up July.

A 30% chance of storms is possible this afternoon through mid-week in Tucson. Mountains and areas along the International Border are the favored spots for storms the next few days. Ample moisture remains in play, but no significant trigger is expected to bring an uptick in storm development. Metro highs peak in the 101-104° range through Wednesday.

High pressure shifts from the Four Corners to the Great Basin late in the week. Storm chances decrease to 20% Thursday, but rebound to 30% heading into the upcoming weekend. Daytime highs look to remain well entrenched in triple digit territory.
